About this place
Hamburger steak, fried shrimp or crab cream croquette? At Severance, you can choose several Western-style favourites for one plate: the Severance Plate, a grown-up take on a children’s lunch. The menu also lists the Casual Plate, with a choice of dishes such as a hamburger steak made with 4% Japanese Black Wagyu or roast beef made from Wagyu ichibo (rump cap). The Severance Plate lets you choose 5,000 items for 100 yen, while the Casual Plate offers 3 choices for 3,800 yen. Pick 4 items to sample a wider range, or choose 3 to build a plate around a smaller number of favourites.
One diner who ordered the plate at lunch recalled starting with corn and onion soup and a salad, followed by roast beef, cream croquette, hamburger steak and fried shrimp. In their view, the ichibo roast beef was tender and juicy, while the hamburger steak’s demi-glace sauce made it a good match for rice. They found the crab cream croquette rich, and noted a small crab decoration made from spring-roll pastry on its crisp coating. The fried shrimp also made an impression, with its substantial prawn and crisp kataifi pastry coating. The mix-and-match format may appeal to anyone keen to compare the character of different meat dishes and fried favourites on one plate.
In the evening, the menu includes Western-style dishes such as hamburger steak and lean Wagyu steak, alongside salmon rare fry with homemade tartare sauce, oyster ajillo served with baguette, and spaghetti with mentaiko. For a dinner built from individual dishes, a glass of wine could be an easy way to choose a pairing. Both red and white wines are available by the glass and bottle. Passo Sardo Vermentino di Sardegna and Passo Sardo Cannonau di Sardegna, for example, are each available by the glass from 1,100 yen.
